PTSD: Treatments and Therapies

There is no instant cure for PTSD, it's a process and over time the symptoms generally decrease. However, there are some methods to help relieve the symptoms and PTSD all together. Medications such as antidepressants may help combat the effects of PTSD. As well, sleep medications may help with the hyperarousal symptoms of PTSD and help with the restlessness that may accompany the disorder. Cognitive behavioral therapy has been proven to help as well, but it's a process and can't be instantaneously fixed. However, a combination of therapy and medication can help alleviate the effects of PTSD faster.
