Depression: Signs and Symptoms

Some signs of depression include:

-Persistent sad, anxious, or “empty” mood

-Feelings of hopelessness, or pessimism

-Irritability

-Feelings of guilt, worthlessness, or helplessness

-Loss of interest or pleasure in hobbies and activities

-Decreased energy or fatigue

-Appetite and/or weight changes

-Thoughts of death or suicide, or suicide attempts

Although these are some common signs and symptoms, it is important to acknowledge that not everyone who suffer from depression experience the same symptoms. Some people may be affected by few symptoms, while others may be affected by many.
