There is no cure for autism spectrum disorder, however early diagnosis and therapy can help reduce the symptoms and improve social interaction as well as functionality. As well, there are medications that can help treat symptoms of autism spectrum disorder such as seizures and trouble focusing. Medication is most effective when it's combined with behavioral therapy. Behavioral therapy aims to improve the social interactions as well as manage their personal routine. Many schools have a special needs division to help students with autism spectrum disorder experience the classroom environment while working on improving communication and social skills.
