Autism Spectrum Disorder: Introduction

Autism spectrum disorder is a developmental disorder that impairs the ability to communicate and interact. It is commonly referred to as autism, however there are three main types of autism spectrum disorder. There's Autistic Disorder, Asperger Syndrome, and Pervasive Developmental Disorder. There's more than 200,000 cases of Autism Spectrum Disorder in the U.S. each year.
